Course Description

Optimization methods in synthesis of systems for signal processing. Synthesis in time and frequency domain. Numerical design of analog and digital filters, equalizers, Hilbert transformers, pulse shapers, derivators, and integrators. Efficient implementation of digital systems. Minimization of number of operations as a criterion in synthesis of digital systems. Design of systems with sums-of-powers-of-two (SPT) coefficients. Optimum systems in software defined radio. Optimization methods in compressed sensing. Tools for system design: MATLAB.
