Course Description

Characteristic plasma parameters. Collective properties of plasma. Debye shielding. Quasy-neutrality. Plasma and cyclotron frequencies. One-particle description of plasma system. Collision processes in plasma and collision frequency. Plasma as a fluid. Magneto-hydrodynamics: basic equations, equilibrium. Instabilities of plasma systems. Types of plasma and applications: artificially produced plasma, terrestrial plasma, plasma in universe.
