As I have understand it, we should generate a DTD that should define a template for XML, then use Eclipse plug-in or webform to add SQL statements, text and pictures to XML (acording to DTD) and lastly create XML parser that should generate HTML code and PDF files

When user send's a query to database is query is not valid there will be a SQL error. We'll need to create error handling. I don't know any other way of doing it.

When you generate report template, you insert querry into xml file and when you generate pdf or html you send querry to DB, remove it from xml and insert result from querry to file.

If user is using web page reporting then he should temporarily upload his logo before generating report (it can be done but I don't know the procedure), and if he is using eclipse he should just make a pointer to logo on his HDD.
